Michael worked within the Australian horse racing and sports betting industry with leading Australian bookmakers.

Sportstel have lobbied and worked with the Vietnamese government in terms of updating the current international sports and horse racing betting law drafts to an international regulated market standard via our position papers with opinions and recommendations for the consideration of relevant Ministries and Congress.

As a result, our Vietnamese subsidiary company invited and attended as the only international guest speaker at both the June 2020 and December 2020 “Hanoi betting business symposiums” held by VAFIE (Vietnam Association of Foreign Investment Enterprises) and attended by representatives of the National Assembly, Central Economic Committee, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Justice, with economists and information technology specialists.

In September 2024, invited to attend the Vietnam Business Forum (Chaired by AMCHAM) and table our position paper on ‘international sports betting and horse racing’ via VAFIE to relevant ministerial departments and then attended and participated in discussions at the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum (Chaired by the Prime Minister Chinh).
